Activities and Exercises
to Avoid

Pudendal neuralgia has many causes (etiologic factors) that include activities and exercises that place pressure on the perineum and cause nerve pain and exert pressure on the pudendal nerve, aggravating pain and inflammation that one must avoid:

  • Sitting for extended periods or prolonged sitting

  • Cycling

  • Horseback Riding

  • Hiking/walking up a steep incline

  • Climbing Stairs

High-Impact Exercises place a great deal of stress on the pelvis

  • Running - the entire body takes the impact for a prolonged period of time. Every single stride puts pressure on the pelvic area, and the muscles of the pelvic floor are in charge of cushioning and protecting it.

  • Jumping

These exercises and activities can put tremendous pressure on the pelvic region:

  • Machines

  • Leg Press

  • Weightlifting with Squats

  • Deep Squats

  • Karate with Kickboxing

  • Rollerblading

It is crucial to avoid exercises that can induce muscle spasms which include activities that

target the hip flexors and also can tighten the pelvic region’s muscles putting pressure on

the pudendal nerve:

  • Leg Lifts

  • Abdominal exercises like Cunches.

exercise plan. They can help you choose exercises that are suited to your condition and won’t worsen your symptoms.

With the right exercise plan, you may improve your overall health, relieve pain, and improve your life.

are another sort of exercise to avoid. These activities can . Focus instead on low-impact exercises like walking or swimming, which can help improve general fitness without putting too much stress on the pelvic region.
